Loss of Car Paint Gloss and Paint Refinishing

Hazing, dulling and weathering all lead to a reduction of your car’s outer most layer (paint) and make it look less stunning. What is Cracking?

Clear Coat Delamination

Clear coat paints have their own timeline when it comes to delamination, which is a peeling away at the top surface or clear coat of your car’s paint job. Frequently, this timeline is based on the amount of exposure to the sun. Other times, this effect results from a manufacturer defect. When the delamination process begins you will see what appears to be like pockmarks on the paint surface. Then, with time the clear coat will begin to separate from the pigment. The last step, and likely the most damaging, the paint will peel in small or large sections. This process only accelerates as more metal is exposed to weathering from moisture and the sun. Maintaining Old & Porous Paint Jobs

Due to the bare metal being pitted, surface rust cannot simply be sanded away. The Titus-Will Collision Center system insures a seamless, cost-effective repair using the following steps:We grind the surrounding paint to bare metal. We then grind or sandblast the pitted metal to remove the rust. Then we acid-etch the bare metal to remove any microscopic traces of rust, thus inhibiting its return. We then sand and level the bare metal, apply a polyester filler if the pitting is severe, and prepare the car for painting.

Rust Through Auto Body Maintenance

Prolong the life of your car paint job by preventing the rust to go through. The rust that has broken through came from inside the panel. The problem is worse than it appears on the outside, because the accumulation of trapped dirt and moisture speeds up the oxidation (rusting) process. Grind away paint in the surrounding area, clean out the dirt, and apply a rust inhibitor to the interior panel. Titus-Will Collision will then fashion and weld a new piece of metal, or apply chemically bonded polyester filler to the vehicle. The final step is to acid-etch the new metal to remove any microscopic traces of rust; fill, level and prime for a seamless repair and gorgeous paint job.
